A Canadian couple, five kids, and a lake we call home — chasing adventure across the world, one carefully-planned trip at a time.
Travel isn’t a hobby for us — it’s the thread that runs through our whole life. We’re high-energy, forever-curious, and never happier than with a map open and a plan taking shape. Between us we’re raising five kids — three boys and two girls — who keep us busy, keep us laughing, and come along for the biggest adventures. Home is Shuswap Lake in British Columbia; the rest of the world is the plan.
Brendin is the engine behind every trip — the one who turns a blank spreadsheet into a 15-day island-hopper or a four-country road trip, mapping every flight, ferry and hotel months ahead. When he isn’t planning the next adventure he’s outside chasing the last one: running, hiking, boating and wakesurfing the Shuswap, and every water sport the lake (or the ocean) will allow. If it can be surfed, hiked, paddled or driven, he’s already plotted the route.
Jenn is the heart of the whole operation — a registered nurse with a fierce love for family and friends that shapes everything we do. She’s the reason our trips are as much about the people as the places: keeping the crew together, fed and grounded, always leaving room for a slow morning or a long dinner, and turning Brendin’s logistics into an actual holiday. Her nurse’s eye means we travel prepared — and a whole lot calmer for it.
Five kids keep life full and loud — and travel is how our family connects. From long summers on the water at Shuswap Lake to the big international trips that pull everyone together, adventure is simply how we do family. A crew our size doesn’t just wing it, either; planning far ahead is exactly what gets us all out the door.

We chase the real version of a place — the neighbourhoods, the food, the culture that makes somewhere itself. We’d rather spend three nights in one town and truly know it than tick five off a list. So we plan hard, then wander well: book the bones of a trip in advance, and leave room for the markets, the mistakes and the moments you can’t schedule. Then we share all of it — the real route, the bookings that worked, the honest tips — so your version is easier than ours was.
The name says the plan. Our home is on Shuswap Lake in British Columbia, and the long game is simple: spend roughly half the year travelling the world, and the other half — the summers — back on the water with our kids. Lake to Latitude is us building toward that life out in the open, one carefully-planned adventure at a time. If you’re chasing something similar, you’re in exactly the right place.
